Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME extension is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased third-level domain names remained active.

Through our company, you can reserve your .NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to correct the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer code from the present domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no particular requirements on who can reserve a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
